Re: Help, need to talk
Hi again @Doglover I had a sleep study done some time ago and when I went for the results the specialist told me that even if you can't sleep just lying in the dark with your eyes closed is almost as good for you. I stress less about my sleep pattern (up to 8 naps some nights, never less than 5) since then and also my psychiatrist told me that a full 'sleep cycle' is 1 1/2 hours where I had thought it was 3. So even the shorter naps are actually doing some good for our brains.

Re: Help, need to talk
Hi @Doglover ,
Thought I'd drop you a quick hello and send some hugs your way.
I hope your day alone went ok and wasn't to torturous for you. I know things probably haven't changed much your side, but, I hope things start to turn around.
I am struggling a little with things here, i've come off all my meds and had hoped for more positive things to happen, but, its just not. I'm trying to persevere and be patient, but, its harder than I thought.
I was going to suggest something similar to Eden in regard to doing something wtih your husband. Even if its just something small and doesn't take a lot of time, at least it shows you are trying and he will see that.
With the racing thoughts, for Me at least, i had something similar happening last year and it was very much tied up with lack of sleep over a period of time. It all went pear shaped for me quickly, basically in a week I became manic. I was so stressed out with my brother and ways to help him that everything else took a back seat.
Have you tried Yoga or doing some breathing exercises? Maybe that can help clear your head and assist with getting some better rest.
I can understand your despair around hubby looking for work and being away for extended periods. What kind of work did you used to do?
I better run, hope to hear from you soon.
Take care

Re: Help, need to talk
@Shaz51 I did, but I went quicker than GP and my psychologist know. Kicking myself I didn't do it sooner to be honest. They have really messed me up, worse than my diagnosis. I am pretty miffed about it. Dam my brother lol

Re: Help, need to talk
Hi @Gazza75
I am sorry to hear that you feel messed up. I need to interject a brief note from SANE to ask you to please be cautious about changing your medication independently. It is important to consult with your prescribing doc and other MH workers about varying your dosage plan.
take care
