Re: Night Shift

all I can think of is its too much for it trying to work flat out like that when room already hot.

What have seen in 'tradie' posts on fb is #1 cheapest option w a/c is to replace. fair enough get diagnosed incase something simple but if compressor etc may as well throw it away , apparently worth a bit for scrap now @plasmo

Re: Night Shift

yeh compressor rings a bell. i[d rather get a newer quieter one

Re: Night Shift

ive got split that was here when moved in 6 years old maybe, unit outside looks filthy on fins plus in worst spot for sun, but works a treat, prob better than 1 yo one in bedroom similar capacity. makes me wonder, they bolted it down to path which isnt level, maybe I should loosen bolts off and pack it up . sposed to be level, not sure how much allowed @plasmo

Re: Night Shift

yeh keeping them clean can be an issue. i just took the inside filter out and hosed it off, prob doesn;t make a difference but needed it .

Re: Night Shift

filter can make a difference if ban enought to effect air flow @plasmo  its more the cooling fins on actual unit, mine look dirty, so less air gets around it. might hose it down once heat gone. i had trouble heating w older one . googled it, said valve could be stuck. it came good eventually. cant have been used on heat for a long time/ever. anyway, touch wood, but think get both serviced before next summer, but get quotes first.

Re: Night Shift
