yeah, I'm tired, too. But I'm having movie night with the children and I'll do my best to stay awake a few hours more @Shaz51 

Besides, we still have the ice cream to dig into yet! This evening will be my highlight. I've been having a really rough time of late, though nothing will interfere with our quality time tonight. 🙏

A new new poem!

Written while I was on the Indian Pacific recently. I can't decide if I like it or not, but am releasing it into the wild anyway...

Journey Beyond

Eroded skies abdicate
Past glories cast into the pit
But the quest for life runs eternal
Even as each breath decays

Lines parallel to the tracks
Direct my gaze to my fate
A future mired in melancholy
Yet still buoyed by optimism

A fertile fire on the horizon
Transmutes latent energy
An alchemy ancient as the land
Upon which our dreams persist

Hypnotized by the silence
As momentum gently stalls
Recognition of the peace
Cooperating with the chaos

This vast expanse of nothingness
Overflowing with the beyond
A time and place in the possible
Our journey into the beating heart
