A long rave

Re: A long rave

Yes I am @eth and it has been lovely to stop and do relatively nothing for a few days. I have slept and watched a lot of tv. There has been a Midsomer Murders marathon on over the Easter period so I have had that going non-stop for 2 days. Taking a break from it today and watching some ABC shows I recorded. I do have to go to the supermarket later as I forgot a few things yesterday but that won't take long. If I have some energy later today I am going to start preparing my loungeroom for painting - lots of little bits to patch and then sand, walls to wash, furniture to move and then I can paint. It is a job I started over 3 years ago so finally I might be able to finish it.

Re: A long rave

Good plan re the painting @Zoe7  - you always seem to have a major project when you get 'holidays'.  I guess owning your own home is like that (I think you do?).  I hadn't seen the MM marathon - what channel was it on?  I like that show too.  Lately I've been watching Informer and The Heights on iView on my laptop.

Loving the music @Adge !

Re: A long rave

It's on Foxtel @eth - I love the UK tv and BBC tv channels - and they are getting a lot of use without any sport on to watch.

I need something to fill some of the time usually in holidays but this time I am very tired also so not pushing myself to do more than I can manage easily. The patching and washin of walls should take 2 days then the painting another day ...the painting bit is the easy pare - it is the prep work that takes the longest. I love painting so it will also be enjoyable when I get to it.

I haven't seen Informer but I have seen a little of the Heights - couldn't get into it.

Re: A long rave

@Mazarita  Hey lovely lady I had my big fluffy dressing gown on today it felt like it was about 5 degrees where I am :o! yes I have been going for walks with neighbour at ungodly hours lol.... this morning we were hitting the pavement at 3.45am!!! There were a couple of dodgy men out at that time but other than that it was really quiet. Going to watch crime movie with son2 (he loves crime movies lol) and then will probably head back to bed for a lil nap. I hope you have a great day and enjoy the soft sunshine love peaxxx

Re: A long rave

G'day @eth
Buying coffee atm. Then home. Chilling out I think.

Hi @Zoe7

Re: A long rave

Hi @MDT 👋

Re: A long rave

@Zoe7  yeah The Heights is really just a dolled up soapy!

@Bunniekins  Hi.  I love crime shows too.  What one are you watching?

@MDT  might be time for me to make a fresh coffee too I think.  I do miss a bought one, only have a plunger here, but not going out for anything at the moment.  Except the occasional walk with bro.

Re: A long rave

You could get a stove top maker @eth

I find that's the best

Re: A long rave

@Mazarita

Hi Maz - I do love the picture of the budgies - I used to keep budgies before I was married - I had not thought of that for a long time

One good thing about the current crisis - it seems to me I am getting in touch with my old memories - the things I used to do - I had forgotten the budgies after all the cats I had Smiley Very Happy

It is wise to limit our time on-line generally - if we feel like being on for longer and we have the time - why not? But if we find it better to be on-line for a short time and limit our contacts then that's better for us - we need to be kind to ourselves - it's part of being our own best friend - we need to keep in touch with what is in our soul - it can be lovely there if we hare not hassled and worried about the world

Also - caring for our mental health is a priority at the moment - I had a pain-flare on Saturday when the weather turned sour - after such a good start - and I had moment with my memories of a sadder time at Easter - I didn't push the thoughts aside but rather considered the implications of that time and how much things have changed for the better. I felt better during the evening yesterday as if the day had passed and woke up this morning feeling okay and then had an unexpected call from an old friend from church and we talked about my going back - it was good to share this with something I trust - after things have settled I hope to go to a late morning weekday service - I do miss the worship side of things - so that's more good news from me

It's good to work outside when the weather is fine - Melbourne has had very indifferent weather this Easter and this has kept people inside - camping in their lounge room even - I am not into camping when I have a perfectly good bed - and I like the amenities of my own home - but good news also that people stayed at home this Easter - it's different and variety is the spice of life

We are living in a different world now and I wonder what life will be like when all this has passed - it will be wonderful just to talk to people without standing apart - without people telling us to step back - and without - in my case - a scarf wrapped around my face -

Thanks for your sensitive thoughts - I do appreciate that - and good to that you are limiting your time
