Yes. Over the last 8 years I've been touring to North America, UK, Europe and New Zealand.

Thanks for the reminder about this @CherryBomb and @-karma- ! Timezones meant I would have missed it. 😛
As far as mental illness and humour goes, I tend to joke a bit, just because otherwise I feel it's awkward and tense.
I was at work yesterday crying for no real reason and carrying a bottle of water which was leaking. A work colleage asked what was wrong, and I looked at the bottle and said it was leaking. He said no, that he meant me, to which I said, oh, I'm leaking too! It was automatic, but I thought it was hilarious, and he laughed too, which made me feel less awkward about it.

There is always a risk.
I've heard other writers talk about how they feel about this and I don't always agree with everybody.
Personally, I never want to hurt anyones feelings. In my show I'm often making fun of myself at the same time as talking about other people.
I did my best to write about people with respect, but I was still nervous about how they would react. Turns out that my family loved the show.
Phew!

@Crazy_Bug_Lady that's gold! Sounds like it made the situation lighter. Did you make you momentarily make you feel a bit better?
