Confused about my meds

Hi

im struggling with my meds at the moment, I keep thinking about going off, staying on, taking one out or the other and I’m confusing myself and then don’t know if I took all of them. I have them in a weeks container but been taking them out and putting them in... I’m just really confused and keep making weird decisions. One moment I think, I don’t need this stuff, then I realise I shouldn’t do this... I just don’t know

Re: Confused about my meds

Hi @Former-Member  I totally understand what you’re saying. I’m like that at times. But for me it’s like I sabotage myself.

I have previously stopped and started. The last time I stopped I ended up in hospital.

I now have a Webster pack done st the pharmacy where all my meds are put in a pack for every day  of the week.

Thst way I know exactly what day I’m up to.

Hope this helps you.

Take care ❤️

Re: Confused about my meds

I got new meds for some physical stuff on top of my psych meds and it scares me when I see all the pills. And they changed my medication times. I find it all really complicated at the moment and I don’t want to take anything. I’ve stopped meds for the physical stuff and been messy with my psych meds. I’ve just taken my night meds. Hopefully all will be clearer in the morning 😕

Re: Confused about my meds

Weening on and off is better than stopping all together at once @Former-Member

Don't do anything without first consulting your pdoc or gp or similar. Meds are like that I guess 🤔

Re: Confused about my meds

I am very careful about any reductions @Former-Member  I set up whole week and I do not change much .... maybe only after 3 months .... of being stable .... with discussion with doctors.

It all depends on how life has been going.  For ages I was going up .... but lately I have turned a corner.

Take Good Care

Meds are not everything, but best be treated wisely.

Re: Confused about my meds

Hi @Appleblossom @Flying_Hams @BlueBay

I still feel as confused about my meds. I've done my weekly box and put all my psych meds I need in it. I just don't know. It's been a while that I've been that confused about meds. I think it's because I've been really struggling with a lot more anxiety. I feel a bit spaced out and I don't know what to do. I've been told ages ago that I'm stuck and lately that I might be treatment resistant and that's really scary. I actually don't know what that would mean. What would happen if I'm treatment resistant? Would everyone just leave and I have to battle it out on my own. I'm tired, really tired of this life.

Re: Confused about my meds

Hey @Former-Member

Treatment resistance is a term that specialists use when they describe someone who isn't responding to a certain treatment. It's not that the patient can't be helped - because everyone can. It's a case of just finding the right approach.

So you won't be left out in the cold in other words.

I learned about that when I did an interview for a health department role. I didn't know what it meant. It's basically just a terminology the system uses. It's not that you won't be looked after - you are just more of a challenge. But what's life without challenge lol

How are you today my friend? Take it easy on yourself.

Meds are a tricky thing to balance out but no need to panic over it. Just remember that it's always up to you.

Re: Confused about my meds

Hi @Flying_Hams

Thank you for the explanation. I’m worried that I’ll be handed over to other people because I’m just too difficult and I don’t think I can go through that.

Im feeling low and flat and numb, I don’t want to get out of bed. Someone’s coming to visit today, but I’ll just stay in bed until they get here. I want to look happy and make them feel welcome as they’re making the effort to come here, I just haven’t got the energy

Re: Confused about my meds

Maybe just take a shower @Former-Member
See how you go?

As for treatment, whatever is in your best interests is what the specialists etc will decide. Even if you do get a new team or new group that's no failure. It's just a case of getting new help and new approaches. I think a lot of this stuff is stigmatised even for those who deal with it on a daily basis.

@Flying_Hams

I can’t start with a new team. I will never go through my history with anyone again. If they suggest a new team, I won’t go. I can’t do this.
