Can't find any support

I can't seem to find any support on here, Lifeline, Beyond Blue, Reach Out Forums etc. I've tried Kids Helpline but can never get through and eHeadspace are always rude to me.

I joined this and the Reach Out Forums since my BB Forum account was deactivated (which will be reactivated on March 2 they said), because of someone bullying me but anyway.

I don't find these forums helpful, no one wants to talk to me or nothing on either website. So again I just suffer, it sucks.

I guess this is a goodbye?

Re: Can't find any support

Honestly I think sane has just been very quiet lately especially the somethings not right section it seems like hardly anyone is getting replies. Perhaps try being more specific with what you are asking for... idk but I think you are not alone in feeling like people aren’t replying on here.

Re: Can't find any support

Hi @Former-Member sorry to hear that you're feeling this way and this has been your experience.

You mention that you are looking for some support. I wonder if you would like to tell us a bit more about yourself. Are there any specific questions or advice that you are are hoping the community can assist with?

Please also feel free to send us an email at team@saneforums.org if you would like to chat more around ways we can support you engage on the forums.

Re: Can't find any support

 Hi @Former-Member 👋

I just wanted to drop in here and let you know I am hearing you ..... I have not been as present on the forums as I would usually be cos of a major life change that has come

flooding through my door quite recently, but I am around ..... please feel free

to tag me (@ directly on front of my username) and I will respond at the earliest opportunity.  I am taking a break at uni at the mo and checked in to see who was around .....

So sorry to hear you had problems on the other forum, but I am glad to see you here ..... and you are very welcome.

I am a "community guide" .... someone who has been here quite a while and can help you find your way around a bit.  Have you taken a look at the Social Spaces threads ?  While you might not feel like socialising, there are threads where you will find animal lovers, arty / crafty people, poets and the like.

Only answer if you want to, but are you in the upper states of Australia, or the lower ..... east or west ?

Re: Can't find any support

Re: Can't find any support

Hey @outlander , @Faith-and-Hope , @Moonstone , @Eden1919 and others. Thank you for your replies.

I'm just quite down at the moment, I'm stressing over my meds, waiting for the prescriptions from my Psychiatrist to come in the mail, they were meant to arrive by Friday (last Friday), now today, but hopefully tomorrow. I asked him to politely please send them via express post again since I only have enough to last me until this Friday, so I'm getting anxious about that, stupid I know.

Other than that I don't know, just people to talk to about anything I guess?

Re: Can't find any support

that's understandable youd be worried about your medications @Former-Member hopefully they will come tomorrow and settle some of your anxiety surrounding it.
if your psychiatrist only gives you a small amount between sessions maybe you could ask if he could write a script long enough to ensure you have enough to last till the next script comes through or he might very well agree to express post the next time...

We have lots of chat threads where people hang out, I tagged you to the 'anyone feel like chatting' thread last night. your always welcome to put a post on there and see if anyone would like to chat. I find its a little quiet in the day time as some people work etc but still definently ok to have a look around and see if anyones online.

Im sorry, I cant remember if you've mentioned any hobbies in any of the other threads you've created but maybe it would be worth having a look into some hobbies to keep you occupied in the day time?
maybe see about any free courses (either online or tafe etc) to study, or something else you like to do?

Re: Can't find any support

I can understand the stress of the wait for the arrival of the meds @Former-Member.  Finding ways to distract yourself, to make the time go faster, might be something you can do ?

Re: Can't find any support

Hi @Former-Member  ... I am sorry  you dont feel you can find any support in any of the Forums or Helplines you've tried so far.

I completely disagree with you that no one wants to talk to you here. Everywhere you've been you have received responses, you have been tagged into other threads of interest, you have been included. @Faith-and-Hope @outlander @Eden1919 @greenpea @Zoe7 @BlueBay , to name a few, and numerous others have been very kind and responsive to your many posts.

I can see that you have now opened 5 new threads in quick succession since you joined up a mere 4 days ago.  I can also see that you have been getting around to other existing threads and offering and receiving support there too. Thats great, and exactly what online forums are all about ... peer support.

On all threads that you have opened you have received replies and support.  But you then seem to do an about turn and open another thread and abandon the thread you already had supporters on.  Can I make a (hopefully) constructive suggestion?  Can you try to stick to one thread for a little while?  This would gather a few rusted-on supporters who relate to you, and whom you can relate to. It would allow you to build a rapport with others here. This may help you to develop better connections, made easier by not flitting from one of your threads to another.  Try utilising the more general or relevant thread that is closest to your heart.  And tag in other members who have supported you on the other threads you've opened.  And build your story, discuss your concerns, ask your questions, etc.

And another question I will put to you ... what exactly are you looking for, and what are your expectations of an online peer support forum?  Forums are only as good as the effort we ourselves put in. It could be that Forums are just not a good medium for you, especially since you have already tried (unsuccessfully) so many.

I hope I have not offended you, it is not intended and I apologise wholeheartedly if I have.  I would welcome you tagging me to your threads if you'd like to talk.  And I see a number of other members have made the exact same offer.  Its up to you to accept or decline those offers.  But please do not blame members for 'not wanting to talk to you'.  Please take care.

Sherry
