I have dug up and relocated a well established Bird of Paradise a year or so ago @Former-Member . It barely took a backward step, and continues to thrive. But yeah, they do have quite an extensive root system. So if you really dont like it, yeah .. advertise it as free to anyone willing to dig it out.

Hi @Former-Member and @Former-Member. Have you thought about growing sprouts, like in a jar. I am just looking into that now. Broccoli sprouts is what I am interested in. You don't need any soil. The soil where I am is not particularly good either.
Sherry my sister has lots of fruit trees and even grape vines. They place those white netting things over them when there is fruit on them. Quite a lot of birds have enjoyed the fruit before
