Re: Best Friends Club

Hi @Bill16  I paid off my mortgage and had good amount of lump sum in the bank prior to purchasing my new home.  By retiring I walked away from toxic environment and my health has improved. Amazing the benefit of reduced stress has had on my physical health, healthier now than have been for decades

Re: Best Friends Club

I'm glad you have paid off your house @Patches59 and got away from toxic environment

Re: Best Friends Club

One of my super funds was insured against me not being able to work @Patches59 some lawyers rang me up and said you are entitled to this amount,I couldn't believe it and the lawyers only charged me 10k

@Bill16

Where would you be without your Mum?

I am glad you feel better.

Hopefully nothing wrong with the old toothy pegs?

Re: Best Friends Club

proudest moment @Oaktree would be the new kitchen i am putting in for mum, it has been 15 years in planning and saving and i am finally making it happen.

Re: Best Friends Club

I love a flouro, a hyper colour or a neon now. Pink especially.

Re: Best Friends Club

Probably my kid too. Although maybe not so much, I think I raised a sociopath.
my kid is a success monster, collecting accolades and achievements like Pokemon.
I tried to remove the roadblocks to success with my kiddo and I wanted to prevent any and all traumatic experiences, self doubt and misguided loyalty and or silence. I’m very proud but I created a monster. I projected the worst of my bitterness, I think and the bad feelings I tried to inoculate and shield from are manifest in different ways, a new unhappiness and my child can be callous and exploitative.

Re: Best Friends Club

Hey @ChouxieChou ,

Some really strong thoughts there. I'm interested to hear more if you are up to it.

Hope you are okay.

Re: Best Friends Club

Hi Tyme,

I’d be happy to discuss at anytime if you’re interested.
It’s something I have mixed feelings about. My life and my circumstance, I’m going to die in a cardboard box on the side of the road. Some of these issues, mental health and personality predilections, I wasn’t a novice in psychological theory when I found myself unexpectedly with child. I was beyond a novice in practice. I did my best to achieve a goal, to raise a successful adult. I assume the new fangled terminology. I am a tiger mom, a momager, but it took a darker turn or the results were not what I wanted..or they are what I wanted. My child is not well adjusted emotionally. Money and accolades flow like manna from heaven but wellbeing and contentment is elusive.
