Hi @Dimity @Oaktree @Arbie_wun and all!
Nice work on the walking! I’ve been watching your updates.
I haven’t been for a walk yet since I back. That will change this weekend and I’m really excited about what I’ve got planned.
I thought I would share that I walked alone when I was away. But I was not completely alone as I regularly encountered others on my travels that we’re doing the same thing as me.
Some of the people I passed me by each day and had brief chats to. And they looked out for me and helped me when I became a bit unwell. To the extent that I felt like I was part of a community and a bit loved. A bit like this community really.
It reaffirmed my belief that you can assume that for the most part that people are good value. I am so lucky to have generally had good interactions when I travel (with minor exceptions).

@TAB @Delicatessen @Dimity @hanami @Arbie_wun @Shaz51 @tyme
Today marked the start of One Foot Forward for The Blackdog Institute. This is my fourth year walking. I got up really early and did quite a long walk up to the train station and back. A few hills involved but nothing too bad. I am going to try and do the same walk every day except when I go away for our anniversary on the 16th and 17th. Will still try and walk those days but in different surroundings. I listened to Jill Duggar’s new book on the way. She has lived a peculiar life. I just started her book today. Finding it interesting. How is your walking going? Any little bit is better than nothing. The trouble is that I walk all October but then usually stop again afterwards. I need to try and find a way to continue to motivate myself. If you have any motivational tips for me I would be keen to hear them.
cheers,
Meggle

Well done @Oaktree . Proves you can do it when the motivation is there. I guess you might need to reflect on what would keep you going when the enthusiasm wears off. For me it's a habit now. Plus as I don't drive I have to walk to shops or public transport. In the early stages accountability helped - for me it was a mood/activity tracker and this thread.

Hello @Oaktree @Delicatessen @TAB et al... sorry I can't get the tag for @smiling_gecko to work... how is your walking going? I'm still walking daily but it's an effort. I've had trouble with my leg for a while and it might be related to my back but I'm a bit sore and have lost a lot of muscle tone.

Hi @SmilingGecko I meant to tag you in the last post.
I'm trying the Horse Stance you suggested elsewhere hoping it might help a few issues I have. I think it will take a bit of practice.
